Come for three weeks with five days instruction per week, the last week to
include tournament match play.
The polo season in New Zealand runs from September to April, we are very
flexible on dates and duration of stay.
Arrive as a novice and go home fit to play match polo. If you can't fit in
three weeks, come for as long as you can and still go back ready to play proper
polo, but take the match practice when you get home.
Your cheif instructor, a 3-goal player of 20 years experience, will teach you
on his own ponies. Stuart is based outside South Island's largest city,
Christchurch,
at Waipara in the heart of North Canterbury's wine district and
he will be delighted to teach all ages and levels, and to pass on his wealth of
experience on the polo field.
Stuart is a founder member of the Waipara Polo Club, the second largest in the
South Island, and the club will welcome you with typical New Zealand openness
and make your stay feel like home.
We arrange:
- Flights to Christchurch
- Polo instruction
- Your accommodation (and transport to your accommodation)
- Transport to instruction
Three weeks: NZD$9,000
Please ask us to quote for different lengths of stay. At this price the accommodation
is standard, for a more luxurious place to stay the cost will be greater, but can
easily be arranged.
Christchurch is only a two-hour drive from
Kaikoura,
renowned for its
whale and dolphin viewing areas. Trips to
Kaikoura,
or to any of South Island's other wonderful adventure activity areas, can be
arranged for you during your stay.
